The problem

You paid $42 for that Thumbtack lead.
Voicemail just lost it.

First contractor to call wins. While you're under the sink, on a roof, or driving, they're scrolling competitors. By the time you call back, they've already booked someone else. Thumbtack still charged you for the lead.

How it works

Lead → call → booking. In under a minute.

Built by contractor-focused engineers who got tired of watching the Thumbtack notification ping at 2pm and nobody calling the customer back until 7.

01

Lead drops

A Yelp request, a Thumbtack message, an SMS — chat-os parses the lead, the appliance, the brand, the ZIP, the customer name. No copy-paste from your inbox.

Hear Sarah work

Four scenarios. Real recordings, no edits.

Audio is the demo of an AI receptionist. If she sounds robotic to your ear in 30 seconds, none of the rest of this page matters. Headphones recommended for the call-center ambience.

Marketplace lead — washer not draining

2:04
Customer (form, "tomorrow if possible")
"My washing machine won't drain. Standing water inside. Need someone tomorrow if possible."
Sarah confirms appliance + symptom, captures full name, callback number, address + ZIP, runs check_schedule, offers two windows, books book_estimate, reads the closing confirmation script. End-to-end booking on the same call.

Voicemail detection

0:48
Voicemail prompt instead of a person
"We are sorry. But no agents are available to take this call. Please leave your message after the beep."
Sarah waits a beat, hears "no agents available… leave a message after the beep", recognises she's on a voicemail, leaves a tight closing line and hangs up. She does NOT plough through her booking flow into a recording.

Pricing pushback mid-call

0:56
Customer mid-conversation
"Wait. How much does it even cost? I got a quote for $200 already."
Sarah pulls the canned pricing answer from search_knowledge — "usually $99–$219, the tech firms it on site after diagnosing" — and immediately keeps the booking flow moving. No defensive scripting, no "let me ask my manager".

Out-of-scope request handled gracefully

1:06
Customer (form: "install a new gas range")
"Yes — but do you take installs, or only repair?"
Sarah recognises the install vs. repair gap, frames the answer in product terms ("In production, your Sarah could be set to handle installs, repairs, or both — totally up to you"). The decline becomes a configurability pitch instead of a dead end.

Want to make Sarah sweat with your own scenario? Try the live demo above ↑ — she calls your phone in 4 seconds.

Features

Built for appliance pros, plumbers, HVAC, electricians, locksmiths. Sarah won't try to upsell your customer a CRM seat.

Voice AI that actually books

Sarah picks up in 4 seconds. Knows the customer name and the issue. Runs your booking flow. Writes the appointment to your dispatcher.

Built on Retell, tuned for trades. The voice you'd want answering your own phone if you could clone yourself.

Yelp + Thumbtack pre-built

No CSV imports, no manual paste. New leads from Yelp messenger and Thumbtack negotiations land in chat-os in seconds, parsed into appliance, brand, ZIP, urgency.

SMS that doesn't feel like SMS

Sarah handles back-and-forth in plain language, asks the right questions, drops the booking link only when the customer is ready. No "Press 1 for".

Books straight into HouseCall Pro

Native sync. Customer + job land in HCP with the address, service type, and tech assignment. Your existing dispatcher and crew don't learn anything new.

24/7, including 3am emergencies

Burst pipe at 11 PM, AC dead before a heatwave Sunday. Sarah qualifies the emergency and pages your on-call tech. No human staff required overnight.

No-answer follow-up that closes

When Sarah leaves a voicemail, she also texts. If no reply in 15 minutes, she tries again. Speed-to-lead beats price-of-lead, every time.

Up front

What's in the box, what's custom, what we won't promise.

Demo calls go better when nobody's surprised on month two. Here's the full picture before you book.

Built-in today

HouseCall Pro and Jobber sync · Yelp and Thumbtack inbox · Retell voice · Telnyx SMS. All ship on day 1, included in the base subscription. No setup tickets, no custom dev for these.

Any CRM, any channel — on request

Need ServiceTitan, FieldEdge, Workiz, or your own custom CRM with an API? We integrate it for you in 1-3 weeks. Same for channels — email, WhatsApp, website chat, Facebook Messenger — added on request. Not part of the base price; we quote per scope.

What we won't promise

  • Won't replace a dispatcher on complex jobs. Sarah books the simple stuff cleanly: known appliance, in-area, time slot, deposit. Multi-tech, special parts, insurance? She hands those to you.
  • No HIPAA today. Standard MSA + DPA. If you do medical-equipment repair where calls touch PHI, we need to talk DPA-first before anything else.

Anything specific to your stack? Book a 15-min call — we'd rather quote a custom integration up front than surprise you in month two.

In production

Built on a stack working contractors run today.

The same engine that handles real Yelp leads, real Thumbtack negotiations, real Retell calls, and real HouseCall Pro bookings — every day, in production. Not a slide deck.

"Sarah called the customer 4 seconds after the lead came in. By the time I got out from under the appliance the appointment was on tomorrow's board. We stopped losing leads to faster competitors overnight."

FAQ

Questions home-service pros ask us first.

If yours isn't here, drop it on the demo call. We'll answer it then.

Will Sarah sound robotic? My customers will hate that.
She's voice AI on Retell, currently the most natural-sounding stack on the market (same one used by Mercury, Replit Mobile). On the demo above you can hear her live. We tune voice, accent, and conversational style to your brand before going live.
What if Sarah doesn't understand the customer?
Two fallbacks. First: she has a transfer-to-dispatcher tool. If the conversation gets weird, she politely passes the customer to a human number you control. Second: after every call she logs a transcript in chat-os. You review what went sideways, we tune her prompt within a day.
What happens after hours? Does she still answer?
Yes. Sarah runs 24/7. She handles the 11 PM washer leak the same way she handles the 2 PM call. For genuine emergencies she has an on-call escalation path: she pages your tech via SMS or call instead of booking the next slot.
Can it integrate with my existing CRM / dispatcher?
Native HouseCall Pro and Jobber integration today. ServiceTitan, FieldRoutes, Workiz on the roadmap (live within 30 days of customer commit). If your CRM has any kind of API we can wire it in 1–2 days.
How long is setup?
About a week from signed contract to live. Day 1: kickoff + KB ingestion (your services, pricing, service area). Day 2–3: Sarah trained on your booking flow. Day 4: dry-run calls with your team. Day 5–7: go live with monitoring.
What if a customer asks for a real person?
Sarah immediately transfers. That's the transfer-to-dispatcher tool. We never trap a customer with the AI. If you're unavailable, she takes a callback request and texts you the context.
Is my customer data secure?
All data lives on your dedicated chat-os tenant. No shared storage, no training on your conversations. Hosting on US-based servers. SOC2 Type 1 in progress (Q3 2026). Standard MSA + DPA for any customer with HIPAA exposure.
What if Retell or your platform goes down?
Two-layer failover. Layer 1: if Retell flakes, Sarah falls back to SMS-only mode and your dispatcher gets an alert. Layer 2: if chat-os itself is unreachable, your old workflow keeps running. We don't take over your phone number, we sit on top of it. Worst case you're back to where you were before us.
